Content: This workshop will explore the likely potential for substance use counselors and others in similar professions to experience significant side effects resulting from high levels of exposure to people with life trauma. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about Vicarious and Secondary Trauma, Compassion Fatigue and Burnout and to examine the possibility that they may be experiencing related discomfort. There will be a discussion about resiliency in the work that we do and how to cultivate this. Personal wellness will be encouraged and there will be the opportunity to share experiences and solutions.
