Content: According to Pew Research, 98% of Americans possess a cell phone, while nine out of ten own a smartphone. Research indicates that social media can increase an individual’s likelihood of misusing drugs or alcohol. This workshop aims to enhance participants’ understanding of current smartphone and social media trends. Attendees will learn to recognize the manipulative designs employed by these platforms and how these designs can foster addictive behaviors across various age groups. Additionally, participants will explore the significant role that social media plays in the ongoing misuse of drugs. Participants will acquire effective strategies for engaging with technology in a healthier manner.
