Marijuana Legalization: Implications for Youth, Families, and Communities

Content: This workshop will explore the varieties and strengths of marijuana and concentrates as well as the signs, symptoms and short/long-term effects of use.  We will briefly explore closely related trends to include vaping and re-emerging synthetic cannabinoids.  Covered will be current trends (national and state) and aspects of both medical and legalized marijuana. Included will be a discussion of the highlights of the NYS MRTA (Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act, April 2021). Discussion will include implications and considerations for our work with youth, families and communities.

  • Quiz and Evaluation form will be provided at the end of the training.
  • Certificate will be issued upon receipt of passing quiz (70% or higher) and completed evaluation.
