Content: The focus of this workshop will be on alcohol’s impact on pregnancy. Discussion will include terms, specific risks and consequences of use during any trimester to include physical, cognitive and behavioral effects. Also discussed will be strategies for counselors and educators to work more effectively with an individual with an FASD. Discussions will then look at risks and health implications specific to the use of marijuana with an emphasis on the effects of use both during pregnancy as well as the potential long-term effects of use on the child.
