Content: This workshop will acquaint participants with the schools of family therapy that are most relevant when working with addiction-affected families. Specific methods of Structural Family Therapy, Multidimensional Family Therapy and Narrative Therapy will be introduced. Discussed will be the roots of the ACA movement and its role in establishing the need for family treatment when working families impacted by addiction. The efficacy of utilizing family therapy as a way to increase sobriety and improved mental health will be explored.
