Content: Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is a chronic, progressive, potentially fatal, yet treatable illness affecting approximately 1 in 10 Americans. For every person with a SUD, there are others – family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues – whose lives are impacted by the effects of this disease. One out of every four children under the age of eighteen experience SUD in their family which has the capacity to disrupt their health, functioning, and neurodevelopment. This workshop will explore SUD as a family disease and provide a comprehensive understanding of how children are affected. Effective strategies and applications will also be discussed.
Continental breakfast is provided.
